TAKOMA PARK, MD – After a hot start to the fall season, the WAU men's soccer team will open at home this week. The Shock will host two home games at the WAU Turf Field.

"Fantastic start to the season for WAU Men's Soccer playing two solid opponents away on the road," said head coach Daniel Carroll. "I am delighted more than anything by the togetherness of this group already."

The Shock will host Christendom College on Tuesday, August 29, at 7 p.m. and Penn State Brandywine on Friday, September 1, at 4 p.m.

Coach Carroll's Quick Hits

• This season is Coach Carroll's first recruiting class, with 23 new players on the team.
• The Shock (2-0, 0-0 CAC) earned two road wins last week.         
  • W, 7-0 (Bluefield University) / W, 3-2 (Emory & Henry College)
• Freshman forward George Tidmarsh scored four goals out of 4 shots on target vs. Bluefield University.
• The Shock and Christendom College (0-1) have seen each other on 16 previous occasions
  • WAU leads the overall series 12-2-2

The WAU Athletic Department is excited to announce that it has partnered with HomeTown Ticketing, Inc. to move all ticketing operations online for the 2023-2024 athletics season.

To purchase home game tickets, fans can visit the WAU Game Ticketing website (wauathletics.com/ticketing). Once you buy a ticket, you can print or save it to your mobile device. To gain entry to the event, you must be able to provide either the printed ticket or show the ticket on your mobile device.

WAU Students, Faculty, and staff will be free and sent season passes via email. You will need to show your WAU ID at the entrance to the stadium to gain access to home games for the 2023-2024 season.

Severe Weather Policies

In the event of severe weather at one of our outdoor facilities, a public address announcement will be made, and WAU athletics staff will provide all participants and spectators with further instructions.

Lightning: If lightning is present, play will be halted for 30 minutes from the most recent strike detected. All spectators must leave the seating area of any outdoor venue. It is recommended that all spectators seek shelter in the nearest building or inside personal vehicles.
