Gregorio Capponi Named CAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
TAKOMA PARK, MD - Washington Adventist University men's soccer freshman Gregorio Capponi has been named CAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the Continental Athletic Conference today.
On Sunday, Capponi, the Defensive Player of the Week, stopped all 14 shots on goal in the Shock's scoreless draw against Point Park University. The goalkeeper made eight saves during the second half to preserve the draw.
The Livorno, Italy, native also played a pivotal role this season for the Shock, starting in 7-out-of-7 matches and recording 27 saves.
