WAU Men’s Cross Country Secures Spot in 2024 Continental Athletic Conference Championship

Takoma Park, MD – The Washington Adventist University (WAU) Men's Cross Country team has earned a coveted spot in the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Championship, scheduled to take place at Holloway Park in Lakeland, FL, on November 8. The race will kick off at 8 a.m., bringing together the top runners across the CAC, each vying for team and individual titles.

 

Throughout the season, the Shock has trained diligently under the guidance of Omoleye Akande, emphasizing endurance, speed, and strategic racing techniques that have enabled them to consistently improve their performances. The team's invitation to the championship is a testament to their hard work, grit, and the support of their coaching staff.

 

WAU's men's cross country squad, led by standout runners like Samuel Damise, Ian Sanchez, and Zachary Aguy, has delivered strong performances in both local and regional meets this season. Their efforts have been instrumental in helping WAU reach the competitive stage of the CAC Championship. The runners have clocked impressive times on challenging courses, with finishes that demonstrate their resilience and team spirit.
